Click the Draw | Shape | Rectangle command to create a rectangle in the view window.
Rectangles contain two types of properties: line properties and fill properties. You can change these properties in the Property Manager.
To draw a rectangle:
Click the Draw | Shape | Rectangle command.
In the view window move the cross hair pointer to the location of the first corner of the rectangle. Click and hold the left mouse button.

Release the left mouse button when the rectangle is the preferred size and shape.
Press ESC on the keyboard to end drawing mode.
To draw a square, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard while dragging the mouse. A square is drawn instead of a rectangle.
If the CTRL key is pressed while drawing a rectangle, a square is drawn.
To cancel drawing a rectangle, press the ESC key while the left mouse button is pressed.
You can edit the selected rectangle properties in the Property Manager.
